Pursuit of Possibilities: Thirty Years of the Oyamazaki Villa Museum of Art
For the rebirth of Oyamazaki-sanso (Oyamazaki Villa) as a museum, the Underground Jewelry Box annex (“Chichukan”) was built in 1995 as a subterranean annex that harmonizes with the surrounding natural environment. In this annex, visitors can see some of Claude Monet’s Water-Lilies series. In the talk event, Mr. Ando, the architect who designed the Underground Jewelry Box annex and the Dream Box annex (“Yamatekan,” completed in 2012), will talk about the villa rebirth plan and the vision behind the annexes.
